5 Tips to Turn Your Photo Booth Side Hustle into a Full-Time Business

So you've been running your photo booth business as a side hustle for a while now and you're having a blast. At some point you're probably wondering how you can take your business to the next level and turn it into a full-time gig.

While everyone's journey is going to be slightly different, we have a few tips that will help you turn your side-hustle into a full-time business.

Let's jump in.

Treat it Like a Full-time Business

While your photo booth may not be a full-time thing quite yet, you should still be treating it as if it were. What we mean by this, is that you should be dedicating as much time as you can permit to growing and developing your skills and business.

Do research, take online courses, attend expos, and just continue to develop yourself. The more you develop, the more your business grows. And eventually, your business will grow to a point where you can take it full-time.

Also, if you're going to work for free, work smart. You should be doing the occasional free event, but only if it's going to bring you more business and publicity.

We actually have an article all about working events for free here, check it out!

Delay Vacations and Your Weekend Plans

This is where a lot of side gigs remain as side gigs. If you're working a "normal" Monday-Friday full-time job, it's inevitable that you're going to have to dedicate your free time and weekends to your photo booth business.

If you're not able to dedicate that time, you have an incredibly small availability for your clients to be able to book you and it won't allow your business to grow.

It'll be a lot of hours in the beginning, but as your business continues to grow, it'll give you more free time and you'll be able to create your own schedule.

Stick to it!

Don't Rush

We know, you want to quit your 9-5 job in order to run your business full-time, but don't rush it. Let your photo booth business grow organically thanks to your hard work and dedication.

Most business owners report that it takes three years after going full time to earn what they earned in their previous full-time job.

Running a small business takes time and patience and it's better to be relaxed and a joy to work with rather than stressed and rushing to create an empire.

When you put in the work, the results will come on their own.

Financial Stability

This tip goes along with the previous one.

It's important to be financially stable if you decide that it's time to go full-time. Like we said, it takes roughly three years to earn enough profit to earn a salary equivalent to your previous full-time job.

Make sure that you and your business are ready to go full-time otherwise it's easy to crash and burn.

Don't Do Everything Alone

We've talked in this article here about the importance of improving your workflow.

In a lot of cases, improving your workflow means taking on a business partner or a few employees. The last thing you want to do is burn-out and make your photo booth business something that you dread.

After all, you started this because you were excited and loved what you do, right?

Keep that attitude, ask for help when you need it, and don't let yourself burn out.

We hope this article will help you turn your photo booth business from being a side hustle to a full-time business!
